Here we are solving the problem:
Mrs Parore is hanging out her towels to dry. She puts 2 pegs on each towel. If she has 4 towels, how many pegs will she need?
We drew the towels and used counters to represent the pegs. We used a strategy called repeated addition to solve the problem.
As you can see 2+2+2+2=8.
We can also write this as a multiplication equation 2 x 4 = 8
It's fun to draw on the table because we know we can rub it off!
Hi Room 5! I like the way you've explained the strategies you used. I remember when I learned this strategy. Have you checked the sentences at the top because 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 8 not 4?
